Please log in using your CERN credential. Commander should then let you run builds e.g. to re-test, or to make distclean.

ROOT uses Electric Commander for continuous integration, running roottest regularly, and for building the releases. You can see the recent results by logging in with user user and password pass.

Working with packages (PAR files)

The PAR file technology addresses the problem of uploading and enabling a package , a set of files which, after proper enabling, provide additional, usually well defined, functionality. In this section we describe what is a PAR file and the TProof interface to work with these files. The interface has been somewhat simplified starting with ROOT 5.27/02, where the automatism to download the needed packages has been introduced.

ROOT does not only work on Linux SLC4, 32 bit - it is working on so many platforms that people are disappointed if it does not work on their current OS. Supporting multiple platforms is not easy (example: I am trying to re-install my old windows box from scratch, so my summer student can use it - and I am doing that since about two hours now, argh). But here I just want to talk a bit about compiler versions.
