Availability

ROOT is available in binary and source form. The binaries are available for most supported platforms. The source is available as a tarball or from Subversion and can easily be compiled on any supported platform/compiler combination.

Hi!

There are still a few days until the next major version of ROOT will be available for download (June 30th). It's a good occasion to tell you want you might like about it! We have put more than thousand patches into ROOT since the last production release. Deciding what's relevant and interesting out of that is of course very much a matter of taste - so here is my personal list of favorite changes that showed up in ROOT during the last year:

The production release of ROOT 5.22/00 is now available.

In case you are upgrading from version 5.16, 5.18 or 5.20, please read the releases notes of versions 5.16, 5.18 and 5.20 in addition to these notes.

The SVN tag for this version is v5-22-00.
