• Microkernel vs Monolithic System. Famous discussion between Linus Torvalds and Andy Tanenbaum on the merits of these two approaches. ROOT is often seen, like Linux, as a monolithic system. Both are not doing too bad.
• The ROOT Cheat Sheet by Steve Beach. Steve has written a very useful introduction to ROOT in Q&A format.
• The PHENIX ROOT tutorials by Mark Pollack. The emphasis of these tutorials is to give examples of how to use histograms. The examples try to be somewhat more detailed than the histogramming tutorials found on the ROOT Web site.

• Andy Haas has written ActiveROOT an ActiveX server application for Windows which provides a graphical interface to ROOT. It also allows ROOT canvases to be placed easily into Word documents (or any other ActiveX container application).

• Welcome to the ROOT Educational Resources at Fermilab
  Physicists are involved in the business of getting data into files, analyzing it, and then producing histogram plots and fits. This tutorial is aimed to the novice ROOT user as the tool for doing this. Hopefully it will get you into using ROOT quickly even if you have little to no knowledge of C++, the language of ROOT commands.
