Nice digests are formated in proper MIME using multipart/digest (not hard) and email programs like VM in emacsen, e.g., display the digest as if they were their own mail folders. this way it is exceedingly easy to follow a thread, or skip posts which have no interest at the moment, etc. roottalk is a high enough volume list taht digest versions would be most welcome. i'd be happy to work with anyone you suggest if you would like to implement this feature. les schaffer
