This a vast question whose answer depends largely on the context.
The short answer is ... yes ... 

In order to be more specific, you would need to specify a little bit
more what you mean.  Are you talking about I/O or interpreter, are the
dimensions fixed or variables, are they to go into a TClonesArray or not,
etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,
