Hi, This is a long standing problem. I suppose the script is looking for libXpm.so and cannot handle the appended version. I usually just make a softlink in the root build directory: libXpm.so --> libXpm.so.4 and use the --use-xpm-libdir to point at it. mike > Hallo, > > I'm trying to compile root on RedHat 7.3. > > ./configure linux > > gives me: > > Configuring for linux > Checking for libXpm ... no > configure: libXpm MUST be installed > > and: > > ./configure linux --with-xpm-libdir=/usr/X11R6/lib/ > > gives me the same. > > But libXpm.so.4 is present in /usr/X11R6/lib/ !! > > What should I do? > > Thanks, > > Yvonne > > > > -- Graduate Research Assistant // High Energy Physics Lab kordosky@hep.utexas.edu // University of Texas at Austin kordosky@fnal.gov // ph: (512) 471-8426 (RLM Lab, Office) (512) 475-8673 (ENS Lab)
