Hi Valeri,

I am not sure if you got all my messages - the thread in the ROOTtalk 
digest got really large.

The latest info is:
After compiling my own version of Windows, all problems where gone.

With the old version, I built the ROOT test suite and all programs where 
working except tstring, which crashed immediately.

I am absolutely aware, that there might be a mess of DLLs - the most 
likely reason for this is, that I have updated Visual Studio from 
version 5 to 5SP3 to 6 to 6SP3 to 6SP5 within the last year.
I took great care, that there is no mess of root libraries.
Nevertheless the ROOT TString problem is the one and only problem I have 
seen so far.
