Greek Letters

Hi ,
I wonder if there is a way to mix greek letters (omega etc) with non
greek letters. When I put a µ (micron) in the text of course the output
in the PS-file is deifferent from that. Also I would like to know how
one can make sub- and superscripts. the keyborad provides a way but this
doesn't work , again the letters are different (obviously due to the
different layout).
