Editing fPrimitives

hi rooters,
  I have been fooling around with the fPrimitives data member in a class
inherited from TPad.  however, something strange happens when i copy another
TList into an already existing fPrimitives TList.  i get this error message:

Warning in <TObjectTable::Remove>: 0xbfff50b0 not found at 1837

why does this copying action necessitate a call to TObjectTable::Remove?  
and why is nothing in the slot that it expects?

any info would be appreciated,
