Hi Yves,

   you object must inherit from TObject and have a Streamer() method.
Check the page:
   http://root.cern.ch/root/Using.html
and the pages it refers to. See also the Event example in $ROOTSYS/test
and also look there for the right makefile for your platform.
On how to use TMessage see $ROOTSYS/tutorials/hserv.C and hclient.C.
