Hi Rutger,
At the recent Root workshop at FNAL, we discussed the CLHEP issue.
WE agreed that the CLHEP vectors/physics vector classes could be 
incorporated inside Root. The idea is that we will start from the
existing CLHEP classes and Rootified them (for persistency).
The class names will be changed to avoid confusion with CLHEP.
But the API should be identical. We have agreed to upgrade the
Root classes whenever a change is made in the original CLHEP class.
FNAL will help in this process. I hope that the next release of Root
will incorporate this work.
