Sun color maps

Dear ROOTers,

Again a question with little importance and this time perhaps not even
directly connected to ROOT, but I have been struggling with it for some
time with no solution. Namely is there a way to sort of set up a colour map
in a ROOT application on Sun stations so that we will never get the
annoying warning messages of the sort :

Warning: 
    Cannot allocate colormap entry for default background
and in consequence, deterioration of the look&feel of our applications ?
