Hi, I just downloaded the latest developpement version of root, first the binary 'root_v2.23.Linux.2.2.10.tar.gz' then the source 'root_v2.23.10.source.tar.gz'. I followed the instructions to install the binary, and then tried to recompile it using the sources with : ./configure linuxpgcc make depend make It stopped at some point : g++ -O6 -mpentiumpro -mstack-align-double -funroll-all-loops -Wall -fPIC -DR__GLIBC -c BASE_Env.cxx /tmp/ccnVgr1p.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/ccnVgr1p.s:3024: Fatal error: Symbol .LEHB3640 already defined. make[1]: *** [BASE_Env.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/root/src' make: *** [default] Error 2 It looks more like a compiler internal error than an error in the ROOT sources files, should I use another version - which one ? Did anybody compiled ROOT with pgcc with success ? Infos : intel PC box PII. Mandrake Linux 6.1 (close to RH 6.0) kernel 2.2.13 (22th release from Mdk) pgcc --version : pgcc-2.91.66 Yannick _/ Yannick Patois _________________ Address (home) __________________ | irc(undernet): Garp on #france25+ | La Villa des Sciences | | email : patois@ganil.fr | 12, avenue de Cambridge | | web :http://www.sura.org/~patois/ | 14200 Herouville-Saint-Clair | | Tel/Fax-home:+33 (0)2 31 94 50 32 | FRANCE | |___________________________________|__________________________________|
