  Could clarify what did you mean ?

  Your "Subj" mentiones "p" option. X3D has no such option but OpenGL
  view has.

  From another hand I tried  "basic3d.C" macros. It works well for all
  X3D options"w"/"e"/"r"
 
What about OpenGL view sometimes the 3D objects like lines can be
invisible due a "light" model involved.  At this point one may try to change 
a "light" model pressing "t" key and to see whether it makes sense.
But the current implementation of OpenGL has no "hidden" line modes at all.
