Hi rooters,

A very first version of neural networking classes for ROOT can be found at

http://svedaq.tsl.uu.se/~anton/neural.html

The neural.tar file contains source, html docs plus OCR (optical character
recognition) example program. Makefile is also provided (originally for
solaris platform). The example program demonstrates how to create your own
data set class, train a neural network, write/read it to/from a root file,
draw network topology and apply trained network to a specific problem,
namely character recognition.

This set of classes is about to be included in the standard ROOT
distribution. I will extend it with classes representing other neural
configurations as soon as I get your comments/criticism/suggestions about
these fundamental classes. I am also planning to provide ROOT with other AI
(artificial intelligence) classes such as fuzzy logic and expert systems.
You are welcome to contact me if you have comments about priorities, class
structure, etc.

Best regards,
Anton
