Hi Anton

There's a very informative Linux on Dell Inspiron 7000/7500 web site:

http://www.eecs.umich.edu/~steveh/inspiron/

My personal experience: I'm running RedHat 6.1 on an Inspiron 7000.
Everything works except for the sound - because the Maestro wavetable
sound systems is not yet supported (there are patches at RedHat, but I'm
not brave enough to rebuild the kernel). Also, for some reason, I needed
to install RedHat 6.0 first and upgrade to 6.1 in order for X-Windows to
work, but this may be my problem.

Best Regards

Brian
