Hi rooters, I have some technical questions. Normally I work on OSF1 and all is fine. But I tried to use root v2.23/12 also on a Redhat Linux 5.1 based PC and got the corresponding root distribution file "root_v2.23.Linux.2.2.13.egcs111.tar.gz". After unpacking, untaring, setting ROOTSYS and PATH I get the following error message while starting root: root: error in loading shared libraries libstdc++.so.2.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory On my system there is only libstdc++.so.2.8 available. I got the 2.9 version of libstdc++ and put it in the root/lib directory. Now root starts without this message and seems to function well. But there came up another problem: If I compile my root based applications I get the following warning /usr/bin/ld: warning: libstdc++.so.2.9, needed by /mnt/stage/root/lib/libNew.so, may conflict with libstdc++.so.2.8 Can I ignore this, or may it lead to serious problems ?
