Hi Rene,
In view of some problems I encountered on win98 as you know, I have
the impression that the DLL's which work on NT don't automatically
work correctly on win98 (and 95, 2000).
My suggestion therefore is that on your NT machine you install VMWARE.
Once you have built a ROOT version for NT on that machine, you can
use VMWARE to test the same DLL's under 95, 98 and 2000.
Hopefully the problems which turned up on win98 after ROOT version 2.22/10
will then eventually been solved.
I think this is the fastest way of getting ROOT really tested on all
those win platforms. Lateron someone could then also build ROOT
under 98/2000 (I guess win95 is disappearing gradually) via the CYGWIN
stuff.
>From efficiency test I made some time ago, it became clear to me that
using the native compiler/system (i.e. MSVC++ 6.0 on win32 machines)
is always giving the best performance.

                                                   Cheers,
                                                    Nick.
