[ROOT] Help creating TTree with variable size leafs

I'm trying to create a TTree with variable size leafs, similar to a
column-wise ntuple with a variable size array (eg, two ntuple variables,
NTrak(1,10) and Px[NTrak]), but the method that is used in h2root 
(ie using a contiguous chunk of memory for all variables) would be very 
difficult to implement. Is there a generic way to do so?
