[ROOT] How to omit the use of libNew ?

Dear friends,
On ALPHA OSF1 using CXX we encounter problems with ROOT 2.25/03 which
seemingly are related to the use of libNew.so.
My question is : How can I use ROOT without using this libNew stuff ?
Should I indicate the suppression of libNew also on the rootcint command ?

Futhermore, wouldn't it be a good idea to provide the ROOT binaries
(at least for ALPHA OSF1) standard without libNew ?
In my case this would have saved my quite a bit of trouble.

                                                     Cheers,
                                                      Nick.
