Hi Derek,

There was a discussion recently on roottalk about FFTs (see archive).

If you want to make an interactive interface to an old library (C or f77),
you can read the instructions at

http://root.cern.ch/root/HowtoCERNLIB.html

This URL talks about cernlib, but the same recipee can be used
for other libs as well.
