Hi Thomas,
If the TArrayX were derived from TObject, the problem would not exist.
The decision to not derive from TObject had several motivations.
Objects such as TArray can be many in a class, including very short arrays.
The overhead of TObject was considered not acceptable in this case and we did
not have the split mode implemented at this time.
I repeat again that TArrays will be accepted in split mode with the upgraded
Root I/O system that we are working on.
