[ROOT] Reading ROOT data formatted files in IDL

Hi all you rooters,

Does anyone know if it is possible, directly or indirectly, to read ROOT
data in Interactive Data Language? I need to give data to collaborators
who insist in using IDL to read and plot them. I know IDL can read CDF and
FITS formats, but I have been unable so far to integrate these programs
within ROOT environment.
