Hi Roberto,

You may be interested to look at the class TSpectrum. See

http://root.cern.ch/root/htmldoc/TSpectrum.html

This class is based on an original implementation by Miroslav Morhac.
References are given in this web page. In particular:

M.Morhac et al.: Efficient one- and two-dimensional Gold
deconvolution and its application to gamma-ray spectra
decomposition. Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics
   Research A 401 (1997) 385-408.

There are examples of deconvolutions that you can download from:

ftp://root.cern.ch/root/SpectrumDec.ps.gz

In the attachment you will find
  - a macro example Peakdec1.C
  - a file Spectrum.root used by the macro.
