Rene: are you talking about class html doc or root html doc tree including roottalk archives? How can you get 45 compressed MB from 3.6 mb root source code? As far as I can see you have about 5mb as gifs but it is not 45mb anyway. I've just zipped everything in the htmldoc dir, including ps, star files, examples and gifs: 12.5 mb zipped and 47 unzipped Ok, anyway, what I want to say is: could you recreate class html doc each time you release new bins and put it on the same download page as a separate file? /Anton http://www.smartquant.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Rene Brun <Rene.Brun@cern.ch> To: Anton Fokin <anton.fokin@smartquant.com> Cc: roottalk <roottalk@pcroot.cern.ch> Sent: Friday, March 02, 2001 3:39 PM Subject: Re: [ROOT] html doc > Anton, > > The compressed tar file with the html docs is around 52 Mbytes. > Without ps files, it is 45 Mbytes. > This would clearly be an unacceptable overhead in our binary distributions > that are typycally between 8 and 10 Mbytes. > > Rene Brun > > Anton Fokin wrote: > > > > A practical suggestion: > > > > it would be helpful if you include class html doc (perhaps without *.ps > > files) to root binary distributions. > > > > /Anton > > > > http://www.smartquant.com > >
