I don't have a solution for the problem, and I didn't follow the previous discussion. But I experienced similar problems under windows (Visual Studio), where the program grows from several canves updates. This seems to lead to a programme crash after something like 4-5 updates. Another thing I saw was a quite "stable" programme crash, when I tried to fit spectra. I implemented a loop which looks for the minuit "CONVERGED" reports. When the fit doesn't converge and is repeated, the programme crashes when Minuit finds a convergence minimum. Cheers Wolfgang Geithner
