To: All ROOT users and developers ROOT2001, the third workshop on the use and development of ROOT, will be held June 13-15 at Fermilab. If you are planning to come, and haven't yet registered, please do so at http://www-root.fnal.gov/root2001/. It will help our planning. Many abstracts have already been received, but we would like to hear from as many users as possible to ensure a good program. ** If you want the future development of ROOT to meet your needs, this is your best opportunity to have your voice heard. ** Possible subjects for talks/sessions include: - Why are some using complex ROOT trees, while others are still using Ntuple-like stores? - Computing models for using ROOT (remote data vs. local, GRID, multiple displays, etc.) - Using ROOT in conjunction with other packages (front-end GUI's, database, etc.) - what were the easy/hard parts? - I/O subsystems and data access - The future of HEP data analysis, and how ROOT fits into your plans - Any other good or bad experiences with, questions about, or suggestions for enhancements for the product. The sooner we get the abstracts, the sooner we can develop the program. Information about the workshop, including registration and abstract submission, is on the www pages, http://www-root.fnal.gov/root2001/ Cheers, Jeff =========================================================================== Jeff Kallenbach | Fermi National Accelerator Lab | Graphics, X Windows V: (630)840-2210 | jeffk@fnal.gov | F: (630)840-6745 ===========================================================================
