Hi Antonio,

  while we have many ROOT users in the Astrophysics community, and while
some people promised to contribute an image processing module, this has
not yet happened. So please, if anybody is interested, contribute such
a module and you will make many people happy (and we'll surely incorporate
it in ROOT).
