Hi ROOT'ers,

I'm not very experienced with Solaris (mostly Linux) and I'm not sure
if this question has been asked before, so please bare with me.

I'm trying to compile ROOT 3.00/06 on a Solaris (SPARC) machine, but I
run into trouble with the X headers. The problem is, that X11/Xlib.h
does not specifiy the return types of various functions, those that
should return an int. However, GCC barks at that, since that is not
ANSI compliant. An obvious fix is to fix the X headers(!), but that
should really be done by Sun and not some user.

So my question is, how the h**l do you compile ROOT 3.00/06 on Solaris
2.8 with GCC 2.95.2 and X11R6 (I believe)?

Thank you for your time.

Yours,
