>From the point of view of ROOT you can install whatever distribution you like. Our native platforms are RH6.1, RH7.0 and RH7.1 (our desktops and laptops) either with standard or gcc 2.95 compilers. Due to the fact that the linux environments are in such great flux it is impossible to pre-build for every permutation.
