[ROOT] not quitting

Hey Rooters,

I am using root (among many other uses) to get a quicklook on
data from our mysql database. When I call root from a php script
I have to do it like that:

xterm -e path/root path/Plot_IV.C -l

and get the canvas I need and the interpreter within the xterm window.
If I only call root from the script, the window pops up and is gone,
although I dont specify the -q flag.
Is there a way to keep root up running without the interpreter window
until it is quit from the canvas button ?

cheers
Florian
