[ROOT] Anybody have/working on Multispectral Image Display?

Greetings,

One of the requirements that I need to satisfy in the Data Visualization
& Analysis Toolkit (DVAT) that I'm developing on top of ROOT is to
display multispectral image data in one of three modes:

1. a monochrome display of a single selected spectral band from an
n-band image),
2. a pseudocolor display of a single spectral band (user-specifiable
colormap), or
3. a true color display of three selected spectral bands from an n-band
image.

I have only minimal image processing/enhancing requirements... basically
just the ability to adjust the bias/gain (brightness/contrast) for each
displayed band. Of course, my users would appreciate any other image
processing/enhancement/analysis capabilities that could be provided.

I realize that ROOT does not yet have an official image class or display
capability (and that it is on the current list of things to do);
however, I was hoping that someone subscribed to this list is already
working on an Image class with at least some of the capabilities I've
outlined above. If that "someone" is you, please contact me at your
earliest convenience.

In case it matters to you (if not, skip the rest of this paragraph)...
our primary use for the DVAT (and, thus, ROOT) is to support the design,
development, and testing of meteorlogical satellite sensors; and the
imagery we need to display is either 1) a simulated scene, 2) data from
a simulation/model of those instruments, or 3) the actual data from the
instruments as they are being tested.

Thanks,
