[ROOT] invisible TCanvas

Hello, 

I am using ROOT to display and print large numbers of histogram-files
for visual inspection, using a TCanvas-instance.

Is there a possibility of having this done "quietly", i.e., without
the Canvas-Window popping up after its being constructed and only
vanishing after calling the destructor?
