[ROOT] guitest.c does not work under win32 ? gClient not an object!

I tried to compile the simple gui parts of the
guitest.c in an vc++ project.

It crashes at the line

MyMainFrame mainWin(gClient->GetRoot(),200,220);

in the debugging window i see that gClient is not an
object and  form my undertstanding this globals are
only generated by cint or ?

Unfortunately its almost imposibel to understand how
that "shi%&/" works, one can just copy the code and
walk in the fog. (what is the initfuncs stuff etc.)
