[ROOT] does TCAnvas delete ist objects ?

hi rooters,

If i create histograms on the heap and place them in a
TCAnvas they disappear if I delete the Object.

So question now is, do I need to delete all
Histograms, graphs etc. before deleteing TCanvas or
does Canvas Maintain a list of its objects and delets
them in the destructor ??
