Hi Johannes,

   you been hired ! :-)  All relevant authentication code for rootd
you can find in rootd.cxx (where currently is supported clear text,
shadow, AFS and SRP). For the client side all code is in the class
TAuthenticate.cxx. Please have a look at them and get back to me
if you have questions.

Looking forward to kerberos support in rootd.
