I once made a small example of using threads to handle a GUI+Logger
mechanism, using ROOT GUI and thread class.  See

Maybe there's something you can use.  It's been awhile since I looked
at that (some 2 years or something), so please don't blame me if it
doesn't even compile.  If you make fixes, I'll be glad if you send me
the fixes.
