Hi Avi,
you can do as follows:

root [0] TFile f("hists040.root")
root [1] gStyle->SetHistFillStyle(1001)   // solid
root [2] gStyle->SetHistFillColor(2);     // red
root [3] gROOT->ForceStyle()
root [4] RateHist->Draw()
