Hello, I'm trying to install Carrot on a Linux 2.2.19-6.2.1, but some problems arise: - I download Carrot-1.0.7.tar.gz and I extract the files, it's the package at URL http://carrot.cern.ch/index_C.so?install=DownloadCarrot - I type ./configure (and things look to go right). - I type gmake, and the next error appears: c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/scratch/Carrot-1.0.7/include -I/scratch/apache/include -D_REENTRANT -I/scratch/root/include -DLINUX=22 -I/usr/include/db1 -DUSE_HSREGEX -DUSE_EXPAT -I../lib/expat-lite -fpic -DSHARED_CORE -DSHARED_MODULE -D_GNU_SOURCE -g -g -O2 -c -fPIC -DPIC TApacheBrowser.cxx -o TApacheBrowser.lo TApacheBrowser.cxx: In method `TApacheBrowser::TApacheBrowser()': TApacheBrowser.cxx:888: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx: In method `TApacheBrowser::TApacheBrowser(const class TString &, const class TString & = "", const class TString & = "")': TApacheBrowser.cxx:898: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx:914: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx:927: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx:930: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx: In method `TApacheBrowser::~TApacheBrowser()': TApacheBrowser.cxx:939: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx:939: member `fImp' is private TApacheBrowser.cxx:940: member `fImp' is private gmake[2]: *** [TApacheBrowser.lo] Error 1 gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/scratch/Carrot-1.0.7/src' gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/scratch/Carrot-1.0.7' gmake: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 - Previously, I installed the binary file root_v3.00.06.Linux.2.2.14.tar.gz, and I can run the examples. I think the enviromental variables are right: export PATH=$ROOTSYS/bin:$PATH export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ROOTSYS/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH - Also, I have installed apache web server, release 1.3.20 - I would like to know: Am I using the correct package for Carrot ? How to prepare the Carrot package ? I'm interested in using it from the web. Do I need to compile a rpm package for Carrot and install it ? How could I to integrate this package with apache ? Thank you, very much in advance. Regards, Juan A. Oses
