Hello everyone, I apologize for being a newcomer to ROOT and having to ask silly questions. I checked the archives, but some issues were discussed quite a while ago and things may have changed. * I discovered ROOT and CInt while investigating a way to interface a scripting language (Erlang) with C/C++ libraries, while avoiding to write a wrapper library. I think CInt should be enough, but then I was confused by the dictionary generator, that is included with ROOT. - Is the dictionary necessary to be able to integrate own code, or is it enough with makecint? What is the difference? - The library I had in mind is Fltk (a GUI toolkit); ROOT's GUI seems a little too heavy (footprint), and I need a crossplatform solution including Windows. Are there any new developments with the GUI? - I use cygwin and gcc, and I can't create .dlls with the default makefiles (it takes 5 steps to make a dll, and one needs for example the symbol for the entry point). Is there a way to go around this? Like, compiling to static libraries? I sometimes get errors because longlong library can't be found - the reason being I can't create it. I hope my questions are clear enough and I will be happy for any bit of help and information. Thanks in advance!
