Hi,

We have seen similar report before.  It seems that it is related to a
specific version of KDE (if memory serves) and does not happens with Gnome
on the same system.  The symptom is that it __seems__ that the Xserver sends
the wrong windows ID to ROOT and it closes the windows instead of closing
the menu drop-down.

Here is the configuration I used:

	./configure linux --enable-shared --enable-ttf --enable-cern
--enable-opengl --enable-soversion --enable-thread
--with-cern-libdir=$CERNLIB --with-ttf-fontdir=/opt/ttf/fonts

RH7.3 still ships with gcc 2.96.
