Dear root and physics enthusiastic, I have a f(x,y) that in theory, for "right" values of x,y is equal to zero. However for real data I have f(x',y') different from zero. Given dx' and dy', I want to find the x'' and y'' that are as closer as possible to satisfy f(x'', y'') = 0. I imagine I can do this by hand, calculating some chi2 etc, but I also imagine there's a (fit?) routine that does this already. thanks! Mauri
