Hello,
I seem to be unable to correctly compile ROOT version 3.03.07 with
gcc 3.0. I see no errors in the compilation process, but root crashes
when I try to run it, with the message:
  *** Break *** segmentation violation
I tried compiling a debug version, and running it under gdb, but cannot
seem to get any additional information. Here is what gdb produces:
(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/local/root/new/bin/root

 *** Break *** segmentation violation

Program exited with code 06.
(gdb) where
No stack.

I am running on a Linux x86 box, and have tried both SuSE 7.1 and 7.3,
and gcc 3.0.1, gcc 3.0.2, gcc 3.1, with the same results. Am I doing
something wrong? Is gcc 3.0 just not supported at present? Thanks in
advance for any help.

Regards,
Gora
