Hi, does anyone know why, when reading a root file which is under CASTOR, the TRFIOFile constructor takes ages. This constructor is invoked when one asks for the first time the data of a tree in the file. The time seems not to depend on the CPU, nor on the RAM of your machine. I have also observed that if you have constructed a chain of trees residing in different files, the constructor is invoked for each of them and while for the first (about 10) files it is quite fast for the following becomes extremely slow. Is there any means to speed up things ?
