Hi I could not use ROOT 3.03.08 and 3.03.09 on Windows. Today I installed last version 3.03.09a on Windows XP (SP1). It really works in the same situations where previous two versions generated errors. Thanks to Philippe Canal who solved this problem. Unfortunately his e-mail does explain why ROOT could start and work one time on the computer and generated an error during the second start. After system reboot ROOT could work one time. And why the error realized not on all computers. I could check it on two very similar computers with PIII (1 GHz) one was with two procesors and another with one. Both computers are working under Windows XP. On the 1st computer ROOT (3.03.08, 3.03.09) did not work but on the 2nd it worked without problem. I have generated new binary distributions with the current CVS version. They are available at: http://root.cern.ch/root/Version303.html I would appreciate if people having reported problems with the pro version 3.03/09 could test this new version (called 3.03/09a) and confirm that the problems have been solved.
