Hi Micheal, The Pull down menu has a "Saveas canvas.C" item, but also a "Save as" menu. If you select the latter, you can choose your file name. There are pros and cons with the default actions. We believe that there are more pros with the current behaviour than cons. In particular, if you have multiple canvases, it would have plenty of bad side-effects to always generate a canvas with the same name.
