Hi Yvonne, libXPm is in XFree86-devel-x-x-x-x. Of course, install the one that comes with your distribution. The example I gave is where it is on my platform. You need this devel package because it also contains the header files, just adding a symlink to libXpm.so is not enough if you want the build root. -- Fons On Sun, 2002-11-24 at 23:54, Fons Rademakers wrote: > Hi Yvonne, > > you need to install the XFree86-devel-4.0.3-5 package that contains > libXpm.so. > > Cheers, Fons. > > > On Sun, 2002-11-24 at 23:36, Yvonne Becherini wrote: > > Hallo, > > > > I'm trying to compile root on RedHat 7.3. > > > > ./configure linux > > > > gives me: > > > > Configuring for linux > > Checking for libXpm ... no > > configure: libXpm MUST be installed > > > > and: > > > > ./configure linux --with-xpm-libdir=/usr/X11R6/lib/ > > > > gives me the same. > > > > But libXpm.so.4 is present in /usr/X11R6/lib/ !! > > > > What should I do? > > > > Thanks, > > > > Yvonne -- Org: CERN, European Laboratory for Particle Physics.
