Ed, I also have had success. My problem was solved by using WinZIP to uncompress and untar the binary distribution. When I attempted to use the tar command from a cygwin window, I was unable to get ROOT to run even though all of the files/folders seemed to uncompress correctly. Anyone know why tar in cygwin did not work for me?
