Hi Pablo,
try to recompile/reinstall Carrot

gmake distclean
./configure
gmake
gmake install

Concerning the problem related to images ... do you have Xvfb installed?
Please, contact me directly not via rootalk  (I'll try to prepare a summary of our 
mail exchange when problem will be fixed).
