[ROOT] colored root files listing under Unix

Hello Rooters,

Just an esthetical thing here (and probably slightly "off-topic" for the
Root-talk list but anyway ...) that perhaps somebody finds useful (or
not) ...
Under Linux my 'ls' command is aliased to 'ls --color=tty' (actually to
more options which are of no matter for this discussion). If you want
your Root files to be differentiated from the plain "normal" default
color when listing your directory contents, you can apply the following
simple 2-step recipe ...

cp /etc/DIR_COLORS $HOME/.dir_colors
echo '.root 01;31 # personal color setting for Root files' >>
$HOME/.dir_colors

The next time you start your X11, you'll see your Root files listed in
bright red (provided of course that you do 'ls --color=tty'). Other
color and options settings are described in the .dir_colors file ...

Best regards,
